Abstract Submission


Submission Deadline: September 15, 2018
Authors will be notified around October 1, 2018

Orthopaedic Summit is pleased to announce the Call for Abstracts for the 2nd Annual Fellows & Residents Session. The deadline for submission is September 15, 2018 at 11:59PM Pacific Standard Time. Abstracts will not be accepted after that time.

The following information is required for abstract submission:

  1. Complete contact information for the Presenting Author including the institution of research.
  2. Contact information for all co-authors.
  3. Provide the abstract title in proper-case for publishing (i.e. The Science of Orthopaedic Surgery)
  4. The abstract must include Introduction, Methods, Results and Conclusions. 1-page maximum, minimum 11-point font, 1 table or figure is permitted.
  5. Financial Disclosure information for all authors.


Author warranty: Persons submitting an abstract to Orthopaedic Summit do so with the understanding that they and all the authors listed on the abstract will abide by the guidelines, conditions, deadlines, policies and decisions of Orthopaedic Summit and OSET, Inc.

  1. The deadline for abstract submission is September 15, 2018 at 11:59 P.M. Pacific Standard Time. Abstracts will not be accepted after that time.
  2. Abstracts must be submitted by the Presenting Author.
  3. There is no limit to the number of abstracts that can be submitted for consideration; however, each presenting author will be limited to no more than two paper presentations during Orthopaedic Summit.
  4. If the abstract is accepted for podium presentation, all presentations must be in English.
  5. All presenters, co-authors, faculty members, etc. who will attend Orthopaedic Summit are expected to register for the meeting and pay all registration and travel costs. No exceptions are made. If attendance is dependent on outside funding, please secure financial assistance before submitting an abstract.
  6. Abstracts are only accepted for consideration via the abstract application form. Abstracts submitted in any other fashion will not be considered for presentation.
  7. Orthopaedic Summit will make final decisions on the mode of presentation.
  8. The Presenting Author and all co-authors must complete a Financial Disclosure Statement.
    *Orthopaedic Summit receives continuing medical education accreditation and is planned and implemented with the essential areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) ACCME through the Medical Education Resource (MER). MER is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Orthopaedic Summit does not view the existence of disclosed interest or investments as necessarily implying bias or decreasing the value of the presentation. These disclosures will not be seen or taken into consideration when the abstract is considered for presentation.


Abstracts are graded on a scale from 0.0 to 10.0 (10.0 being the best) based on the following:

  • Originality of project
  • Level of Interest
  • Scientific Merit
  • Is the problem clearly stated?
  • Are the statistics sound?
  • Are there adequate numbers of subjects?
  • How is the methodology? (Are there controls? Is this prospective vs. retrospective?)
  • Is the abstract clear / well written and are the results clear?
  • Are the conclusions supported by the results?
  • Clinical Usefulness
