Dean G. Sotereanos, MD

Dean G. Sotereanos, M.D., graduated from the Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), and a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. He is a clinical professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Orthopaedic Specialists – UPMC. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, with a certificate of added qualification in hand surgery. Dr. Sotereanos has educated hundreds of residents and fellows in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery. He is an active member of 17 professional and scientific societies. Dr. Sotereanos was recognized as an outstanding clinician and researcher with many awards. He has presented over 650 lectures in 22 countries. Dr. Sotereanos has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles, authored 90 textbook chapters, and edited 2 textbooks related to Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery.
