Keelan is a physical therapist, athletic trainer, administrator, and educator. His primary interest is non and postoperative rehabilitation of active individuals with hip pathology. He regularly treats patients, teaches, publishes, and presents material related to this topic on a local, national, and international level. Currently he is serving as the Director of Clinical Practice Innovation, Administrative Director of Physical Therapy Residency Programs, and Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency Program Director for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center - Rehabilitation Institute. Keelan is an adjunct professor in the University of Pittsburgh School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. His current professional roles include Chair of the AOPT ICF Based Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Clinical Practice Guidelines Hip Panel, Chair of the AASPT Hip Special Interest Group, and Physiotherapy Committee Member for the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy (ISHA). Past positions include Director of the AOPT Annual Meeting and Vice Chair of AASPT Hip Special Interest Group. Additionally, Keelan currently serves as an associate editor for the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy.
