Dr Gillespie is chief of shoulder and elbow and the vice chair of education at University Hospitals Case Western Reserve University SOM. He is the Drusinsky Endowed Chair in Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. His primary clinical and research interests focus on shoulder replacements as well as the biology of rotator cuff repair.
