Eduardo A. Salvati, M.D. is an Emeritus Director of the Hip and Knee Service at the Hospital for Special Surgery, Attending Orthopedic Surgeonand Professor of Clinical Orthopedic Surgery at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University.He has spent five decades caring for thousands of patients, educating and training several hundred residents, fellows and medical studentswhile advancing basic and clinical research in hip replacement surgery.
Dr. Salvati is a past President of the American Hip Society and past Secretary-Treasurer of the International Hip Society, as well as a Honorary Professor of the University of Buenos Aires. He has received national and international recognition for his work aimed at refining hip replacement procedures and reducing the risk of complications following surgery.
Dr. Salvati has lectured throughout the world and given the renowned John Charnley Memorial lecture. He is also a four-time recipient of a Hip Society Award. He received the esteemed Nicholas Andry Award from the Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons in 2007. He has received the Lifetime Achievement Award of the New York Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, of the Hospital for Special Surgery and of the International Hip Society.
