The safety of all OSET participants has always been and will continue to be the top priority for our team. With the continuous and evolving landscape of the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be implementing a series of protocols and onsite procedures to ensure that we’re executing and providing a safe & healthy environment for everyone. We continue to assess all information provided by the local Boston health officials, the Encore Boston, and recommendations by the CDC, Health and Human Services organization, and the OSET Board of Directors. After successful completion of the OSET 2021 meeting, our health & safety initiatives will remain in place with added responsibilities and subject to change.
The OSET team continues to monitor the situation, and as new developments arise, we will modify and adjust our procedures, as well as keep our community informed.
The following applies to all registrants, faculty, exhibitors, OSET staff, Encore Boston staff working our meeting, spouses, partners, and significant others.
Orthopaedic Summit requires full vaccination (Pfizer, Moderna, J&J, AstraZeneca). There are no exceptions. Proof of vaccination and booster required at the time of registration and must be uploaded through the OSET Dashboard. If you are vaccinated but do not have a booster, you must provide evidence of a negative PCR within 72 hours of arrival. In addition, you must bring a rapid antigen test with you and produce a negative result at the time of registration. If there are any concerns with this policy, please contact admin@orthosummit.com.
All meeting, delegates, participants, faculty, and vendors that are vaccinated but have not receive a booster shot are required to have a negative PCR test within 72 hours of arrival. In addition, they must bring their own rapid antigen test and produce a negative result at the registration desk at check in.
If symptomatic with cold or allergy-like symptoms, a temperature check may be required. If your temperature varies above normal, we recommend you bring a home antigen test to the meeting so that we can verify the negative result to ensure a safe environment.
Advanced registration is strongly recommended this year to avoid wait times, missing academic sessions, and for a smoother contactless process. Your time at registration will be reduced through our mobile badge check-in. This allows attendees to scan their registration QR code at our registration desk for badge printing.
The hotel will provide touch-free sanitizer stations throughout the meeting space.
The OSET team will be working closely with the Encore Boston to ensure that meeting spaces are cleaned and all sanitizing protocols, per the local Boston health department, are being met.
Policies are subject to change as per CDC recommendations.
Is everyone required to wear a mask?
Masks are not mandatory at the present time. However, we continue to assess all information provided by the local Boston health officials, the town of Everett, the Encore Boston, and those mandates and/or recommendations placed upon by the CDC and Health and Human Services organization. In compliance with the local health officials, we will provide updates on PPE, social distancing, and wearing masks as we get closer to the meeting. As an indoor event with all air filters in place, we are taking all the necessary precautions to ensure that our attendees feel safe during the ongoing education. We will also be having outdoor events, weather permitting. We do ask that everyone respects an individual’s personal choice if they wish to wear a mask.
Will you be doing COVID-19 testing onsite?
OSET will not provide on-site testing this year.
Are OSET team members, partners, faculty, and Encore Boston staff working the meeting required to follow the same rules as attendees?
Yes. All attendees will be required to follow the same protocols and procedures of providing a vaccination card with evidence of a booster uploaded prior to arrival.
What if I start to feel sick; who should I contact?
Should you feel you are having COVID-19 symptoms, we request you remain in your room and contact the OSET staff immediately. We will work with Encore Boston management and security for immediate support and assistance in getting you to a local testing facility or medical office, should immediate medical assistance be needed.
If you require immediate assistance, please contact the following OSET staff member(s):
Do you know what the airline requirements are for any flights to Boston?
We encourage you to visit your airline’s website to understand their specific protocols.
What can I expect in the Exhibit Hall?
All attendees will be required upon registration to accept the Orthopaedic Summit “Terms & Conditions”. Terms & Conditions are subject to change, so we do encourage you continue to check back for possible changes.
We look forward to welcoming you back in person and THANK YOU in advance for helping to keep our community safe and healthy! We are committed to another amazing Orthopaedic Summit of over 1,000 participants, and look forward to seeing you in September 2022!
